Anthony competes in various road and track events around Australia. His preferred vehicle of choice is the Holden Ute SV6 fitted with a fiberglass deck-lid. The customer brief was simple ” I am looking for a Holden Ute SV6 bike rack solution that can carry up to two bikes without removing the deck-lid”. Anthony contacted the team at SeaSucker Australia keen to try a Mini Bomber bike rack on his Holden Ute SV6. The deck-lid itself has a sizable protruded area or bump.

Prior to the install date Anthony confirmed the width of the deck-lid bump was at least 76 cm wide which is the Mini Bomber’s foot print.. With his demanding work commitments we offered to meet with Anthony at his home over the weekend in the northern suburbs of Melbourne.

As with every install we start with a quick clean of the potential surfaces so that no dirt can get trapped as we work through the various install locations. A quick measurement check confirmed Anthony was spot on with his assessment of the Mini Bomber’s suitability. Engaging the four vacuum mounts in a 1, 3, 2, 4 sequence quickly secured the Mini Bomber on the deck-lid. Much to our surprise the rear wheel strap had enough flat surface area on the

bump to attach directly in line with the head-board. A quick check through the rear view mirror confirmed good visibility whilst driving. The best surprise came last. We quickly discovered Anthony could open his deck-lid all the way and the Mini Bomber Bike Rack did not obstruct.

The pictures tell the story. A super low profile install that does not look out-of-place. The installation and removal take less than two minutes. The quick release fork mounts point outwards making it easier to use. A highly flexible solution enabling Anthony to carry his bikes without any compromises. Whilst we might be biased we would also add it the Mini Bomber and road bikes mounted on Anthony’s Holden Ute SV6 bike rack setup could have come from the factory that way.
